Sept 12th – Restore America’s Estuaries convened over 75 senior leaders representing government, business, non-profit, and foundation sectors for the Executive Leadership Breakfast on Coastal Restoration, at the Phoenix Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The event was keynoted by Deerin Babb-Brott, Director of The White House National Ocean Council who underscored the importance of bringing stakeholders from all sectors to be a part of the national dialogue, and moving these opportunities forward, in achieving successful results. “It was particularly rewarding for us to see new partnerships begin to develop as a result of bringing together the different sectors that share a common interest in protecting, restoring, and managing our coasts and estuaries,” said Jeff Benoit, President of Restore America’s Estuaries.

Moving forward is exactly what RAE is focused on, and we’re very jazzed about two partnerships in particular. First, our new collaboration with The Coastal Society, in planning our 2014 Summit (formerly “Conference”) in Washington, D.C., along with our member group, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, supporting us as the local host of the event.

Joining with the coastal management community expands the range of topics that were discussed at the Summit beyond just water resources and restoration to include other business areas such as; resilient communities, ports and harbors, dredged material management, working waterfronts, energy facility sitting in the coastal zone, and wastewater treatment, among others.

We at RAE are excited about the opportunity to collaborate again with all of our past 2012 sponsors that were with us in Tampa, for the 7th National Confernece (Nov in 2014), and look forward to having you has a key sponsor and partner of the Summit. For those organizations interested in sponsoring or exhibiting at our 2014 Summit, please visit our prospectus.

We are especially thankful to ARCADIS, who sponsored the morning’s breakfast and helped to make this event possible. ARCADIS is also a major sponsor of the upcoming 2014 Summit in Washington, DC.
